Comet Swimming Club

Comet was established in 1958 by Beth Meade QSM it is Gisborne's oldest swimming club, catering for all levels of aquatic education.

Our learn to swim programme is developed to ensure that your children learn to be confident and competent in the water.

Our competition training squads have produced some of the most competitive age group poduim finishers and record holders in the region and also the country. We have had Comet swimmers reach Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

Our coaches are all Swimming NZ accredited and have experience at both regional and national level.

Becoming confident and safe in the water is one of the most important skills we can teach our children and it makes sense to go to a well established facility with a wealth of experience behind them.

Comet has over 60 years history of providing water introduction, safety, learn to swim, and competitive swimming opportunities to our community.

Our preschool classes are structured to deliver quality instruction from highly qualified and experienced staff.

From babies to adults, Comet delivers water safety/learn to swim introduction programs and lessons to more than 1000 students each week around our district.
